Shun, this song's singer is Hall & Oates, right? I listened to it now. It sounded good. But I think it missed my strike zone a bit...(I don't know if American people understand this metaphor..)
Thank you for your recommendation!! I'm happy!!

Adam, I always buy CDs at HMV or Tower Records. Do you know them?? It's major CDstores in Japan. They have a lot of CDs. Recently, HMV opened at 樟葉(kuzuha) in Hirakata.
By the way, were you trying to buy a Japanese singer's CD? It's true that Japanese singer's music "album" will cost about $30. But, Japanese singer's "single" cost about $10. And foreign music "album" has two type; one is for Japanese people(including translation of the lyrics), the other is imports. The former costs about $22~25, the latter costs about $18~20.
However, I have never seen CDs which cost over $100!!! It's incredible!!

Dear Akihiro,

Your friend Adam is having "sticker shock" because most CDs here in America sell for less than $20 US. Most people get around paying for entire CDs because they download one or two songs from iTunes (a web site that sells MP3s for .99) onto their iPods (portable MP3 players that are all the rage here.) You can even download the entire CD for around $10 US from iTunes if you want. It's a great site. Do you have iPods in Japan? They're made by Apple (actually, Macintosh, but we call them Apple or Macs for short because Macintoshes are actually a kind of apple.) The cheapest, called the iPod Shuffle, costs $99 US, but the more expensive ones can run you about $350 US. That's a lot of money!!
I really like Shania Twain (that whole "Man, I Feel Like a Woman" song is the subject of a funny new commercial here). She's considered to be a crossover country singer (she "crossed over" from country to Top 40, which is the US's version of popular radio.) Have you heard of Coldplay? How about Ryan Adams (no, not BRYAN Adams, although I liked him in the late 80s, early 90s I'm almost ashamed to admit.) I'm listening to Ryan Adams right now while I'm typing this. Then, there's the ever-popular U2. Gotta love 'em, from the 80s up until today. What do you think of these singers/bands?

I haven't bought CDs in ages! I have about 2500 MP3s in my computer and if I want new music, I just get it from friends.

anonymous, thank you for your comment.
I really envy your MP3 player!! Though I have a NET-MD player now, I want MP3 player. It's very inconvenient for me to bring a lot of MD medias to outside...
You know, I know iPod and Apple. But there are various MP3 player in Japan. So, it's hard to buy one player, what is worse, I don't have enough money...
Oh, being played on commercial is "Man, I Feel Like a Woman"?? In contrast to your country, "Up!!" is being played here. I love this song!!
By the way, I haven't heard of Coldplay. Do you have some recommendation?? But I heard of Ryan Adams after seeing your comment. His song is so melodious:) I like his song. But I'm afraid I don't like U2's songs very much.
