Movie Review - "50 First Dates"

My evaluation for this movie is A-.

1.People
Henry Roth(Adam Sandler) and Lucy Whitmore(Drew Barrymore) are the main characters. Henry works at the aquarium as a veterinarian, and his hobby is island fling. Lucy is a local girl in Hawaii and she has short-term memory. She can't remember what happen the day before.
2.Point of View
Henry and Lucy's voice tell the story and give us the information. The performers make us feel something sad.
3.Place
Henry and Lucy meet at the restaurant near the sea in Hawaii.
4.Picture
I remember the last scene clearly. When Lucy wake up on her bed, she finds a videotape written "Good Morning, Lucy" and plays it. Then she recognizes her condition and life history, and comes out of the bedroom. She sees her husband, Henry, and their child on the ship.
5.Plot
Henry is working at the aquarium. He meets Lucy at the restaurant and falls for her. When he meets her the next day, however, she doesn't remomber him. He knows about her. He tries to stay with her every day. She finally knows what happened with her when she sees a newspaper. Henry shows her a videotape about the events since the car accident. They date together everyday and Henry proposes to her, and she accepts. But the other day, Lucy burns her journal to forget Henry because she knows she has no future. None the less, they marry and have a child.
6.Premise
This movie is about the man who has a girlfriend who suffers from short-term memory loss. I think the directer tries to impart the strength of love. All a couple need is love.
7.Theme
It evokes both sadness and happiness.
8.Conflict
Lucy's family tries Henry to stay away from her.
9.Connection
Never.
